WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

This position collaborates closely with Converse Headquarters (HQ) teams, Converse Technical Service (CTS) teammates in Asia, and factory counterparts from the receipt of the new model Tech Pack to Commercialization. Working alongside Costing, Material, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams, this role facilitates and integrates new innovation ideas to improve product quality, process efficiency, and overall productivity. Clear, timely communication, end-to-end (E2E) project leadership, and strong problem-solving abilities are essential, all within a collaborative, team-oriented mindset. The role is located in Converse Vietnam office, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and reporting to Senior Manager, Product Development & Engineering Global – Converse.


WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation and a collaborative spirit. You should be experienced in managing complex development timelines, have in-depth knowledge of footwear construction and materials, and demonstrate excellent analytical and communication skills. A passion for innovation, quality, and continuous improvement is key to success in this role.

  • Minimum 5 years combined footwear manufacturing and technical capacity experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related technical/engineering field. Additional experience is required in lieu of a degree. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities.

  • Advanced knowledge of lasts, patterns, tooling, footwear constructions, and basic chemical engineering. 

  • Solid understanding of material properties, test methods, and applications.

  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and digital design files (2D/3D)

  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively. 

  • Creative and proactive approach to improving systems and processes

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As the Manager of Technical Development Global, you will oversee the product development lifecycle from initial design through to production readiness. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high-quality output while optimizing cost and process efficiency. You’ll also lead operational excellence initiatives aimed at improving organizational performance. 

  • Lead product development to ensure production readiness. 

  • Drive innovation in new footwear technologies. 

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and factory teams. 

  • Ensure quality and performance standards are consistently met. 

  • Troubleshoot product issues related to defects and quality concerns. 

  • Manage product costs to remain within target.

  • Monitor industry trends and competitor products. 

  • Lead operational excellence efforts to enhance product creation workflows. 

  • Identify and resolve inefficiencies in the development process. 

  • Support digital transformation in product creation. 

  • Collect and analyze data to support process improvement case studies.
