You will work on the global energy team at Converse. This team is responsible for scouting, designing + bringing to life best-in-class footwear collaborations and licenses that drive brand heat for the CONVERSE brand globally. In collaboration with the Director Licensing & Business Development, the role will support the end-to-end project & account management of Converse licensing partnerships.  

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As an organized, process driven + strategic thinker, you are responsible for supporting stakeholders to execute the licensing + collaboration strategy. This is a key role to ensure the smooth operation of licensing initiatives and is the connection point between external partners & internal teams. You will support business development + account management with our key global licensors and licensees, from the ideation of new licensing opportunities to organizing business plans to driving and building operational excellence. This role will support to drive revenue growth for Converse’s global business, so commercial and/or retail understanding and passion is key.  

You will understand and have hands on-experience with the licensing business and flow. Oral, written + visual communication skills are critical for leading meetings, crafting + delivering presentations across levels internally and externally and fostering strong external relationships.  You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be proactive + show initiative, as well as be highly detailed oriented. Finally, you must be able to manage deadlines and prioritize both short + long-term goals / tasks.

In addition, we are looking for the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong commercial background, ideally within fashion or consumer product brands or retail.

  • Minimum 5 years in licensing / partnerships.  Will also consider account management, business development, project management experience.

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint/Keynote, Smartsheet.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The majority of the role will focus on managing the day-to-day commercial relationship within in-licensing & collaboration business. Here you will support both the upstream + downstream workloads including:

  • Managing communications + meetings.

  • Creating & ideating around new licensing partner opportunity briefs.

  • Supporting business plan creation by collecting GEO forecasts, creating P&Ls, compiling licensing applications, tracking sell-in + sell-through.

  • Collating insights to inform future forecasting + keeping eye on trends to spot future licensing trends + partners.

  • Creating and maintaining tracking system to ensure contractual terms + timelines are met. 

  • Educating + broadcasting commercial requirements throughout the organization.

  • Sharing out timely forecasts + sell-in summaries to external partners.

  • Monitoring adherence to licensing contracts around inventory & financial commitments.

In addition to in-licensing, you will also manage the day-to-day commercial relationships for out-licensing partners. In coordination with the product, marketing + brand team, manage the out-licensing partnerships by:

  • Setting up partner onboarding across brand, product, sales & marketing.

  • Ensuring seasonal product, design direction kick off meetings to provide product + brand marketing direction.

  • Process management of product + marketing approval process to ensure strong brand fit across product positioning, distribution, product & marketing.

  • Managing season or yearly marketing direction; facilitate kick off to provide guidance on marketing creative concept, storyboards, final visual+ plans, as well as PR.

  • Creating templates & initiate process + systems to support out-licensing business.

  • Reviewing quarterly / yearly business plans & provide support to ensure guidance + opportunity for growth based on Converse strategic direction.

  • Monitoring & supporting dialogs around actuals to forecast + royalty collection.
